1. WHERE IT ALL BEGAN, Emile A. Hartge built his home, 1878-9.  Now the site of the Hartge Yacht Sales & Charter Offices and the HARTGE NAUTICAL MUSEUM.

 

 

 Site of Emile's shop and railway where he built log canoes, bateaux and other workboats- c. 1879-1925.

 

 

Original "Big Shop" built c. 1924 by Dick Hartge, where hundreds of boats were launched over 75 years.  Now the Carpentry and Paint shop.

 

 

The addition to the "Big Shop" where the Chesapeake Twenties were built after WWII.  On the floor, lines were drawn and lofting done for the 18 Quadrant Class Sloops.

 

 

The first shop and office of (Oscar) Hartge's Boatyard which became Hartge Yacht Yard, Inc. in 1946.  Now the Stock room.

 

 

The large covered shed and slips were built for power yachts, c. 1960.

 

 

The newest pier for 60 ft. yachts.

 

 

Cap'n Dick's last boat building workshop.  Now the Mechanics and Rigging shop.
